Episode 530 - J1 Matchday 24

After another wonderfully chaotic J1 weekend, Jonny and Ben welcomed Tom Dallyn back to the pod for a chat about Sapporo, who returned to the winner's list for the first time in 10 league games with a tremendous victory away at Urawa on Saturday night (to 23:53).

In Part 2 we round up the movement down in the relegation dogfight, then shift our attention to the top four (to 1:01:34), before finishing off the episode with the remainder of the top flight results.

Episode 529 - J1 Matchday 23

Dan Orlowitz returned to the pod to give his thoughts on the top four, Harry Kewell's exit from Yokohama F.Marinos, FC Tokyo's progress under Peter Cklamovski, and the bumper crowds at, and management of, The National Stadium in Part 1 of our new episode (to 1:10:10), before Jonny and Ben roundup the Emperor's Cup results from last midweek, wrap-up the remainder of the J1 Matchday 23 results, and look ahead to the weekend's final round before a two and a half week break.

JTET - J2 Round 23 Review

Time was against the JTET crew this week, so please accept this humble, 10-minute micro-pod as a review of last weekend's J2 action!

Jon Steele, flying solo this week, rounds up the three biggest games from last weekend in J2, names his Most Bravo Player for Round 23, and looks ahead to this weekend's Round 24 fixtures (the last round before a short summer break for J2 and J1).

Episode 528 - J1 Matchday 22

We begin this episode by rounding up a dirty week for Yokohama F.Marinos, who lost twice in four days, Gamba Osaka putting them to the sword on Saturday night to ramp up the pressure on Harry Kewell (to 21:00), before we round up victories for the other top four sides (to 35:50).

Then in Part 2 Lewis White returns to the pod to chat about Tokyo Verdy's 1-1 draw with Cerezo Osaka and their tremendous first season back in the top flight (to 59:10), before we review a good weekend for most of the relegation dogfighters (to 1:31:25), chat about Japan's Olympic squad named late last week, and preview Wednesday night's third round of the Emperor's Cup, and the weekend's J1 Matchday 23.

JTET - J2 Round 22 Review

The JTET 'dream team' of James Taylor and Jon Steele are back again to cover all of the latest action from J2!

In Part 1, the boys discuss Sendai's pulsating victory over Tochigi (Start to 08:20), Shimizu's return to winning ways against Okayama (08:20 to 15:00), and Nagasaki's exciting 2-2 draw on the road at Tokushima (15:00 to 23:50).

After that, Jon and James nominate their Most Bravo Players for Round 22 (23:50 to 29:30), and chat about recent transfer news plus Kofu's change of manager (29:30 to 37:00).

Bringing up the rear, there's a preview of the upcoming Round 23 fixtures this weekend (37:00 to 41:00), and a look ahead to the Emperor's Cup 3rd Round next Wednesday night (41:00 to Finish).

Episode 527 - J1 Matchdays 20 & 21, Team of the (Half) Season

Sean Carroll returns to the pod as we review the past two top flight matchdays (with a focus on the weekend's Matchday 21), and then piece together the Team of the (Half) Season.

In Part 1 we review Machida's massive win at Gamba Osaka and Kobe seeing off Kashima in the other battle between top four teams (to 24:00), then chat about the good recent runs Cerezo Osaka and Fukuoka are enjoying (to 35:15), before discussing Hiroshima, and where they might improve after a couple more frustrating draws (to 41:30).

Then in Part 2 its Team of the (Half) Season time (to 1:28:00), before we run through the other five games from the weekend, the changes in personnel at Urawa, what's going wrong at F.Marinos, and the Relegation Dogfight.

Then they move onto league action and discuss Akita v Shimizu (to 15:45) and Yamaguchi v Iwaki (to 26:55), pick their Most Bravo Players (to 34:10), and look ahead to the weekend’s fixtures (to end).
