With the big third-tier kick-off almost upon us, Mike 'Orlando Magic' Innes and Jon Steele convened again to take a look at six more clubs that will be taking part in this season's J3 League.
In the first half of the show, Mike and Jon focused on the Shikoku trio of (gulp) Sanuki, Imabari, and Ehime, and in the second half, turned their attentions to Kyushu, and the triumvirate of Kitakyushu, Miyazaki and Kagoshima. Episode 406 - J1 Matchday 3
Tuesday Mar 08, 2022
Tuesday Mar 08, 2022
It was a great pleasure to welcome Nick Bolton (UKSangaUltra) back to the podcast for the first time in almost three years, to chat about all things Kyoto Sanga.
It had been a long time between top flight drinks for Sanga, and they announced their return in some style of course, with their stirring win over Urawa on the opening day, but since then a draw at Cerezo Osaka, and Saturday's controversy-tinged 4-1 defeat at the hands of fellow promoted side Iwata, has brought them back down to earth. Still, it promises to be a terrific season for Cho Kwi Jae's side, and it was great to get Nick's thoughts on it all (to 33:00).
In Part 2 we work our way through the other eight games from the Matchday 3 slate, with a quick look ahead to this weekend's fixtures to wrap up the episode.

Episode 405 - J1 Matchday 2
Tuesday Mar 01, 2022
Tuesday Mar 01, 2022
Sean Carroll returns to the pod as we discuss a very eventful - and red card heavy - J1 Matchday 2.
We began with surprise leaders Kashiwa, the only team with a perfect record after two games, after they came from behind to beat nine-man Yokohama F.Marinos, and then move on to defending champions Kawasaki, who bounced back from their tonking at the hands of Yokohama in midweek by cruising past Kashima away from home (to 27:35).
Next we chat about all the drama from the Shizuoka Derby, with Shimizu painting the prefecture orange after beating nine-man Iwata 2-1, and then discuss a huge win for Gamba Osaka, and yet more frustration for Urawa, at Saitama Stadium (to 55:25). From there we move on to the four draws from the matchday, and finish with a look at what's to come in the week ahead.
