Episode 427 - J1 Matchday 24

We begin our chat about the weekend's J1 action at Todoroki, where Kawasaki kept their top flight title hopes alive thanks to Jesiel's dramatic late winner, and then move on to the surprise sacking of Rene Weiler at Kashima, followed by the wins for Kashiwa and Cerezo that took them above Antlers in the table.

The second half of the episode is focused on the dogfight, with Shimizu the big winners down there after they hauled themselves off the foot of the table with a win in the capital that was chock full of talking points.

JTET - J2 Round 29 / J3 Round 19 Review

Swinging into action again, the JTET team review all of the latest J2 and J3 action.

This week, Jon Steele was joined by James Taylor for a look at three of the biggest games from Round 29 in J2. 

After a solo round-up of the rest of the action from Jon, the boys preview all of the fixtures coming up in Round 30 this weekend.

After that, Mike ‘The Magic’ Innes is back and banging in ‘J-Talk: Short Corner’ – he has all of the J3 match action from Round 19 in this segment!

Episode 426 - J1 Matchday 23

We were delighted to welcome Dan Orlowitz back to the pod for an in depth chat about the league's COVID situation, Urawa's punishment for their supporters' indiscretions, and of course a full review of the weekend's J1 Matchday 23.

We discuss the top seven to around 54:00, then finish with what is shaping as a relegation dogfight for the ages.

Once again, JTET is here to look back on all of the latest J2 & J3 action.

This week, the pod starts with Jon Steele reviewing all of last weekend's J2 action (including a bonus mention of Tokyo Verdy's win over Iwata in the Emperor's Cup).

After that, James Gallagher joins Jon for some in-depth chat about FC Ryukyu, as well as a preview of the upcoming Round 29 fixtures.

Episode 425 - Japan Lift EAFF

On this week's episode we celebrate Japan's victory over South Korea on Wednesday night that saw them lift the EAFF Cup, and chat about which, if any, players have possibly edged their way on to the fringes of the World Cup squad (to 16:00).

Then we move on to a few notable transfers from the past week, and finish the episode with a game-by-game breakdown of the weekend's J1 Matchday 23, which features crunch clashes at both ends of the table.

Just in time for another J.League weekend, JTET is back & banging with all of the news and match reviews from J2 & J3.

This week, we kick off with a solo review of the Emperor's Cup games that involved a J2 participant from last midweek - James Taylor is at the controls for that one.

After that, Jon Steele was joined by special guest, & Kumamoto fan, Garry Irwin (pod debut) to review 3 of the big J2 matches from last weekend.

Following that, Jon rounds up all of the other J2 action, before rejoining Garry for the now-traditional preview of the upcoming Round 28 games.

Episode 424 - J1 Matchday 22

Sam's back as we review the last round of games before the EAFF Cup break. F.Marinos, Antlers and Sanfrecce all drew again, allowing Reysol and Cerezo to make up ground after odd goal wins.

Once all the games are seen to, we finish up with a frank and honest review of the hodge-podge Mr Moriyasu selected for the EAFF.

Jon Steele joined James Taylor to discuss the action from matchday 26 of J2, focusing on Niigata’s win in Yamaguchi and Shion Homma’s transfer to Club Brugge, Yokohama FC’s draw with Tokushima, and more dropped points in stoppage time for Omiya against Tokyo Verdy. James reviewed the rest of the action, and then the boys took a look ahead to the weekend’s games. Then, Magic Mike Innes has all the latest from J3 in J-Talk: Short Corner.

Episode 423 - J1 Matchday 21

With Sam away on his holidays, Jonny Nicol slipped in to the co-host's chair for this week's episode as we reviewed a bumper weekend of J1 action and controversy.

After beginning with some of the major events from last Wednesday night's Matchday 20, we start our weekend review with the leaders Yokohama F.Marinos needing a late rally to scrape a point away at Cerezo Osaka, while second placed Kashima missed their chance to close the gap on top spot as they were held up in Sapporo.

Next we move on to Kawasaki's big win over 10-man Gamba Osaka, the early VAR-assisted red card practically killing the game as a contest (to 44:15), before we spend most of the second half of the episode in and around what is shaping as an elongated relegation dogfight.
