Episode 383 - Samurai Blue Sluggish, J1 Run-In

No sugar coating things here - Japan were poor in their latest World Cup qualifiers, and Scott McIntyre guests for a discussion on some of the problems the Samurai Blue are having under Hajime Moriyasu, while we also touch on Japan's next two opponents, Saudi Arabia and Australia (to 35:05).

Then we return to domestic matters, firstly rounding up the Levain Cup quarter finals, then moving on to discuss the run-in at both the top and bottom of J1.

JTET - J2 Round 27 /J3 Round 16 Review

For this week's JTET, Jon was joined by J.League expert (and unusual snack enthusiast) Sean Carroll to review all of the key J2 action from last weekend's games (Round 27).

There's also a welcome return for 'Magic' Mike Innes in J-Talk: Short Corner, as we celebrate the return of J3 after the long summer break - Mike is back and banging as he wraps up all of the key action from Round 16 in the third tier.

Episode 382 - J1 Matchday 27

A big week in J1 saw Yokohama F.Marinos close to within a point of champions Kawasaki on Wednesday, but the script was flipped on Saturday as Frontale won for the first time in four and F.Marinos saw their lengthy unbeaten run snapped.

Joining us in Part 1 to chat about a testing period for the leaders is our regular Frontale correspondent Neil Debnam (to 32:53), then we round up all of the other games from a terrific weekend round.

In this week's episode, the legend that is Richy Palmer (@GifuRichy on Twitter) joined Jon Steele to look back at a (another) very exciting round of J2 matches.

Episode 381 - J1 Matchday 25

With Yokohama F.Marinos continuing to whittle away Kawasaki's buffer at the top of J1, this seemed the perfect time to have Stuart Woodward back on the podcast, and he joins us to chat about the 5-0 shellacking of Sendai on Saturday, and what's been going right during their 12 match unbeaten run. We also discuss another frustrating evening for the champions, who were held to a draw at Hiroshima (to 31:40).

Then in Part 2 we run through the other eight games, including key wins for Tosu, Kobe, Nagoya and Urawa in the hunt for third.

JTET - J3 Summer Special (Part 3)

In the third installment of our J3 Summer Specials, Jon and Mike take a closer look at the 'bottom third' of the current J3 league table, and round off the discussion with some existential chat about where Fujieda and Numazu (in particular) find themselves in the grand scheme of things!

JTET - J2 Round 25 Review

On this week's show, Jon Steele was joined by Jonny Nicol (@BlogGamba on Twitter) to run though all of last weekend's (weather-affected) J2 action!

The boys started by discussing Jonny's incredible impressive recent blog output, some of the more interesting recent transfers, and the big games from the relegation dogfight over the weekend (Part 1).

After that, the rest of the Round 25 games were covered, along with a listener question (Part 2), before some previews of midweek Emperor's Cup games (already played by the time this pod is being posted) and the upcoming J2 games in Round 26 this weekend (Part 3).
