Episode 370 - J1 Team of the (Half) Season

Jonny Nicol guests as we piece together the J-Talk Best XI from the first half of the J1 season.

After a brief news and notes roundup at the start of the episode (to 13:00), we go from back to front on the pitch, beginning with goalkeeper and our four-man defence (to 37:31).

Then we stock the midfield and attack in our 4-3-3 formation, with perhaps a couple of controversial selections throughout the team, but hopefully you'll find this an enjoyable listen - it was certainly a lot of fun for the three of us during recording.

Episode 369 - #AngeBall Celtic Bound?

It's one of the biggest items of J.League news in the past decade - Yokohama F.Marinos boss Ange Postecoglou seemingly set to take over in the dugout at Celtic Park, and joining us to talk about his thoughts on the potential move, the reaction from both sets of supporters and what it might mean for both F.Marinos and Celtic going forward, is Sean Galbraith, who has a foot in both camps as a supporter of both clubs.

After Part 1 (which runs to 1:17:32), we take a whirlwind tour of the top flight, rounding up all ten J1 games from the weekend's Matchday 17.

Episode 368 - J1 Matchday 15

Urawa continued their rise up the J1 table in Matchday 15, and regular Reds correspondent Ryan Steele (@Steelinho) guests in Part 1 to talk about their recent run, and the terrific impact a number of new arrivals have made on the team. Ryan also sticks around to review the other two all-top half games over the weekend - Tosu beating Kashima and Hiroshima winning away at Cerezo Osaka (to 50:26).

Then in Part 2 your faithful cohosts run through the other games from Matchday 15, as Kawasaki continue to cruise, Fukuoka flourish and Sendai skip up the table.

Episode 367 - Battered Black and Blue

Scott McIntyre guests this week for a look at the wretched situation at Gamba Osaka, who sacked manager Tsuneyasu Miyamoto late last week, and then slumped to a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Urawa on Sunday (to 31:30). The rest of Part 1 covers weekend wins for the top two in J1 in Matchday 14, and Tosu's draw at Oita (to 54:34).

Then Part 2 begins with Kashima's stunning home smashing of Yokohama F.Marinos, and also includes 1-0 away wins for the two promoted sides, before wrapping up with Yokohama FC's first win of the season and Scott's new boyfriend(s).
