It will all become clear in the J-Talk: Extra Time season premiere! Enjoy.

Episode 302 - 2020 J1 Preview Part 1
Tuesday Feb 04, 2020
Tuesday Feb 04, 2020
We're baaaack, and we begin to get you ready for the start of the new J1 season with an in-depth look at last year's top six with new co-host Sam Robson, and special guests Stuart Woodward, Alex Bishop and Neil Debnam.
After Sam and I briefly round up last week's ACL playoff games, we welcome in Stuart for a chat about how defending champions Yokohama will fare in 2020, the key additions to their squad and how they will approach their return to the ACL (to 26:20).
Then Alex pops on to discuss FC Tokyo, and if they can go one better than last year's second placed finish (to 42:09), Sam and I chat about Kashima, and Neil joins us for a look at Kawasaki, who like Antlers don't have the distraction of the ACL this year, and can go all out for the J1 title (to 1:17:50), before we finish up by running the rule over Cerezo Osaka and Hiroshima.

Jon & I talk about Tokushima's "defeat", we make what turn out to be correct predictions on the Emperor's Cup, and what turned out to be a wrong prediction about Jordy Buijs's destination.
Enjoy - and Merry Xmas!! Happy Holidays!! Have a great Festivus!!

Episode 300 - J1 Glory For Yokohama
Tuesday Dec 10, 2019
Tuesday Dec 10, 2019
After Yokohama claimed their 4th J1 title, and first in 15 years, on Saturday, Sean Carroll, Sam Robson and Stuart Woodward guest as we celebrate their stirring achievement.
F.Marinos chat with Stuart dominates Part 1 - his enjoyment of the day and post game celebrations, Ange Postecoglou's impact on the club and how they will approach 2020, but also events on the pitch on Saturday of course, as Yokohama withstood some early FC Tokyo physicality to ultimately cruise to a championship-sealing 3-0 win (to 32:53).
After we bid Stuart farewell, Sam, Sean and I discuss the two big games at the foot of the table that saw Tosu survive despite losing at Shimizu thanks to Matsumoto's late equalizer against Shonan - and we look ahead to Bellmare's playoff against Tokushima this Saturday - before we run through all of the other games from J1 Matchday 34, with snippets on each top flight club as we close the book on the 2019 J1 season.
On this, the occasion of our 300th episode, I'd like to thank all of our guests for making themselves available to chat about this league we all love, and of course, as I always say, thanks to you for listening wherever you are. But the biggest thanks of all has to go to our supporters on Patreon, who have enabled us to grow in 2019 and made it possible to launch the Extra Time podcast. Episode 299 - J1 Matchday 33
Tuesday Dec 03, 2019
Tuesday Dec 03, 2019
After Yokohama moved within touching distance of a first J1 title since 2004 with a big away win over local rivals Kawasaki on Saturday, Sam Robson and Stuart Woodward guest as we round up Matchday 33 in the top flight.
Stuart shares his experiences from the away end at Todoroki, after F.Marinos scored early for the third straight game, and then turned on the boosters in the second half to blow Frontale away. Sam extols the merits of a couple of key mid season signings that have helped Yokohama in the closing stages of the season, a fact in stark contrast to their title rivals FC Tokyo, who sat on their hands in the summer and now look set to be without their two main strikers for this Saturday's title decider, which is now looking like a simple coronation of Ange Postecoglou's men as champions. We also discuss another afternoon of frustration at home for Tokyo, who failed to beat a bottom half opponent at Ajinomoto Stadium for the second straight week (to 50:57).
After we bid Stuart farewell, Sam and I round up the rest of the games, with Shonan snapping their long winless run and looking decent bets to avoid the playoff place on the final day, while we look ahead to the crunch clash between Shimizu and Tosu, and commiserate with relegated Iwata and Matsumoto.

J-Talk Extra Time: Episode 18 - Walking through the debris

Wow! What a Sunday. It has taken Jon Steele & Stuart Smith the best of a week to get their thoughts together on what was an epic final day in J2. We talk Kashiwa, Yokohama, Omiya, Kyoto, Tochigi, Stadia, players, suits, redemption, acne and so much more.
Like a Pink Floyd album, this podcast is long but very much worth listening to all of it.

Episode 298 - ACL Final Wrap & J1 Matchday 32
Tuesday Nov 26, 2019
Tuesday Nov 26, 2019
After Urawa fell at the final hurdle in their attempt at a third ACL title, Ryan Steele and Sean Carroll guested in the aftermath of Reds' poor performance in the 2nd leg at home versus Al Hilal, while Dan Orlowitz returns to the pod after a Rugby World Cup-enforced absence to discuss J1 Matchday 32.
Even though there wasn't a lot to say about Urawa's poor showing on Sunday night, apart from how disappointing it was, we discuss what went wrong, while hopefully also giving Al Hilal their due credit as very worthy winners over the two legs (to 28:37).
Then Dan returns with some RWC stories, as we attempt to delay talking about FC Tokyo's insipid display at home against relegation-threatened Shonan that cost them top spot, with Yokohama taking advantage of their slip up by going top with their away win at Matsumoto. Next follows a brief chat about Kashima, who are still in with a sniff of the title but trail the new leaders by four points with two to play (to 1:00:25).
From there we turn to the bottom three, with cellar dwellers Iwata giving themselves a fighting chance of hauling themselves up to the playoff place with their dramatic late win at Sapporo.
